MY MIRACLE SPRAY
Schreiner's has been my miracle spray on more than one occasion.
I was first introduced to it when my horse had a fungus on his back haunch and I went in search of something to clean it up. Always a lover of natural remedies, I grabbed a bottle of Schreiner's and hoped for the best. I had expected it to take a few days to show improvement and a few weeks to fully clear up, but even after one day I could start to see that it was working! And by the end of the week it was almost fully gone!
Since then I've used it on scratches, cinch sores, and deeper cuts. I've never encountered something that works as well and it has a permanent position in my first-aid bag.

THE ITALIAN JOB
This is a story nearly as old as your product. It must be eighteen years ago that one of our mares got tangled up in sheep fencing and cut her leg so badly my husband, upon finding her, was sure she would have to be put down. The vet came and gave her antibiotics, though there was no flesh left to stitch up. I don't recall exactly how long it was that I used the antibiotics, but the wound was not healing. A friend recommended Schreiner's. I was scared to death, but I stopped the antibiotics, used the Schreiner's and was stunned by the results. I come from an allopathic medical family, so switching to something natural was a huge step for me. I live in Italy now and sadly there is no Schreiner's over there. That's why I'm on the website now--ordering two bottles to take back with me. Thank you Schreiner's.

NEVER CEASES TO AMAZE ME
Schreiner's never ceases to amaze me! My mares were out on summer pasture at a friends. One day a mare came in with a nasty front leg wound that was about 3 days old.
I brought her home and hosed it off. The edges were hard and curling out. I opted to spray the wound with Schreiner's and then wrap it in order to soften the edges. I sprayed the gauze pad also and wrapped the leg, leaving it there for two days. I changed the wrap every other day for 2 weeks, running the hose on it with each change. After 2 weeks, I left off the wrap and sprayed on the Schreiner's several times a day for the next 3 weeks. The end results are seen in the photo below. After this she continued to fill in with hair and has a thin scar that even a vet could not have done a nicer job with his stitches! As a matter of fact, I never even called him. I KNEW Schreiner's could handle the job.
Thank you for all you do.

After the decision has been made to "stitch or not to stitch," treatment of most types of wounds is the same - thoroughly clean the wound and then dress it properly. If the wound is large, deep, or contaminated, antibiotics may be required to fight infection within. Tetanus toxoid or antitoxin injections are also recommended.

When in doubt, consult your veterinarian!

A "healing environment" is created when the wound is clean and the natural flora, necessary for cell regeneration, is not destroyed through the use of harsh chemicals or antibiotic treatments. We do not recommend using any other topicals in conjuction with SCHREINER’S® because their chemical nature can actually inhibit the healing process.

Wrapping the wound may be necessary, particularly in the early phase of treatment or if there is bleeding. It is critical that the wound be allowed to "breathe." If you must bandage, use gauze and porous tape, and do not wrap the wound so tight as to prevent adequate circulation.

The wounds we treated on these pages were thoroughly washed, using cold water under pressure, to remove any scab and discharge. SCHREINER’S® was applied liberally to the wound and surrounding area twice daily. Spraying the surrounding area soothes the trauma and helps to keep the flies away.

Every third or fourth day the wound was again thoroughly cleansed with cold water under pressure (a garden hose with a nozzle attached works great) and any new scab was removed.

We continued this treatment through about six or eight weeks, when the wound area began to look more like a superficial problem. We then finished up by simply applying SCHREINER’S® daily until the area was totally healed and the hair returned.

THE HERBS

Schreiner Herb Solution Herbs

Most of the industrial world’s major drugs were originally derived from plants, which had a history of use in traditional medicine.SCHREINER’S® HERBAL SOLUTION contains six of the world’s most time-honored medicinal herbs. For thousands of years their healing power has been wideley recognized and recorded. Their beneficial qualities can be verified by both their continuous use and contemporary laboratory analysis.

The use of Aloe can be traced back 2,000 years when the Greek historian Dioscorides recorded the use of Aloe as a healing herb. Aloe Vera is known for its healing effects on wounds, burns and sores. Clinical studies have concluded that Aloe has anesthetic, antibacterial and tissue restorative properties.

The active ingredient in Goldenseal is Hydrastine, which is an antiseptic. It is highly effective in eradicating skin infections or sores. Goldenseal is tonic, restoring tone and strength to body tissue. Modern research confirms the plant’s strong antibacterial and even anti-viral action.

Comfrey derives its name from the Latin conferta, meaning “grow together.” The healing compound found in it is Allantoin, which affects tissue growth and speeds up healing in wounds and burns. It is an astringent, capable of drawing out infection from the body and destroying harmful bacteria.

Myrrh was one of the gifts of the wise men at the dawn of the Christian era. Myrrh has, since ancient times, been used as a cleansing agent, countering putrefaction and poisons throughout the body. It is an antifungal and antiseptic. Veterinary medicine has long used it in salves for sores and burns, and for wounds, especially for horses.

Cayenne is antiseptic, and inhibits growth of micro-organisms on living tissue. Its active ingredient, Capsaicin, can be put in a fresh or old wound. It is very healing and non-irritating. The Cayenne used in SCHREINER’S® comes from Sierra Leone in Africa, and it is said to be the most pungent and medicinal.

Elder is one of the most important of all herbs. The blossoms, as used in SCHREINER’S® are the most potent part of the plant and make for an effective treatment for wounds and skin ailments. Elder blossoms were listed in the U.S. Pharmacopeoia from 1831 to 1905, and noted as a blood purifier.
